HOW MUCH ARE DUES?

Alumni dues are $50 annually. While some members pay their annual dues in one lump sum, the Alumni Chapter encourages you to consider spreading your gift out over the course of the year by authorizing a safe and easy, automatic monthly transfer from your banking account to Pi Kappa Phi’s banking account. Most alumni agree to donate $20+ per month, but a gift in any amount makes a difference. EFT donations can be suspended at any time. Yearly contributions are due at each Homecoming meeting.

HOW IS MY CONTRIBUTION UTILIZED?
Your support of the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter helps assist the student chapter and pay for communication pieces like the B.O. Alumni Blast. One hundred percent of your contribution helps fund projects that advance Beta Omicron Chapter at NSU. Recent efforts include: purchased a new sofa for the house; funding publication of the alumni newsletter; a new roof for the chapter house; installing motion lights, new doors, locks, and a security system for the chapter house; replacing all beds in the house, re-painted the PKP sign in front of house, repairing air conditioner, master bathroom renovation, game room tiling and ceiling repairs, a new backyard fence, and helping underwrite recruitment efforts.

WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP PROVIDE ME?
Membership in the Alumni Chapter provides an opportunity for alumni to stay connected with each other and the undergraduate chapter. Keeping in regular contact can allow alumni the opportunity to continue their commitment to lifelong brotherhood. It further helps the chapter by re‐engaging alumni in the growth and development of the undergraduate chapter. Membership also ensures your ability to vote at meetings, elect the board of directors, and have input on projects. Financial contributions and dues also provide the funding and vehicle for organized alumni projects, reunions, and other events.

WHEN ARE ALUMNI CHAPTER MEETINGS?
Meetings are held annually at the Homecoming Reunion in Natchitoches. Information about the annual gathering is publicized on the chapter and National websites, Facebook and Twitter, alumni newsletter and other mailings, and through Northwestern State University. Meetings are conducted at the chapter house unless otherwise specified. The officers will make their respective reports at that time. Any and all business matters may be transacted at such annual meetings.

HOW AM I INFORMED OF YEARLY ACTIVITIES?
The Alumni Chapter maintains the chapter’s official website and social media, in addition to publishing a semi-annual newsletter mailed to all alumni members. An e-mail database and other electronic communication are also utilized to inform alumni of current activities. Invitations to certain events and information about upcoming projects are also distributed through traditional mail.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE STUDENT CHAPTER?
Having close ties to the undergraduates is very important to the success of Beta Omicron Chapter. It has been proven time and again that a chapter with a functioning alumni organization is stronger in all aspects of a fraternity such as size, grade average, and campus leadership, than those with weak or non-existent alumni organizations. Alumni often have financial resources to give the local chapter; however, they need more than money. Undergraduates need skills that only life experiences can give them. That is where the alumni chapter can help. Alumni, in a wide variety of fields can help students with interviews, resumes, and other necessary skills to get into the job market. The best leaders in life are those who lead by example. The alumni chapter does this and more. Any direct financial contributions are appreciated by the student chapter, especially around the time of formal recruitment each summer and fall. You also have the opportunity to become involved through advisory roles. The Alumni Chapter is responsible for appointing the Council of Advisors (COA). Potential roles to be filled include: Academic Advisor, Alumni Relations Advisor, Chapter Advisor, Faculty Advisor, Legal Advisor, Member Education Advisor, The Ability Experience Advisor, Recruitment Advisor, Risk Management Advisor, Standards Advisor, and Ritual Advisor. Contact the Alumni Chapter to learn more about these volunteer roles. Many alumni also stop in Natchitoches between business trips or even on a free weekend. Your attendance at chapter meetings, events, as well as alumni functions is also one of the most significant ways you can have a positive impact on the undergraduate students.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE ALUMNI CHAPTER?
Several volunteer opportunities currently exist within the Alumni Chapter. Members currently serve on the board of directors, as city event coordinators, alumni committees, or by creating your own contribution or project. Contact a member of the board of directors to learn about involvement opportunities. Through financial contributions—no matter how big or small—you can make a positive impact on Beta Omicron as an alumnus. Regardless of how much time you have, there are plenty of opportunities to be involved. Have a wife or kids? Chances are, they can participate too! From regular alumni events such as football tailgating, open houses, golf tournaments and alumni socials, there are year-round opportunities to reconnect with fraternity brothers. Some choose to join the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter and contribute their ideas and donations in support of the chapter.

WHO ARE THE OFFICERS AND WHAT ARE THEIR DUTIES?
