tri-sigma-carwashTwo NSU Greek Organizations worked together to raise money to benefit a local family on September 15th.  Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority raised over $500 to benefit a local family who recently lost their 11-year-old daughter in a car accident.  Members of both organizations spent the day washing cars and shining tires for the cause.  Sigma Sigma Sigma member Ginna McCowen said, “We knew we had to do something to help with this family’s loss.” Pi Kappa Phi associate member Kyle Domangue was glad to help.  “You just hope somebody would reach out to you, if this happened to you,” he said.

Pi Kapp Trash Bash: “A Clean Sweep”

trash-bash-fall-2007Members of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity are doing their part to keep Natchitoches beautiful.  On  September 9, 2007 the Fraternity held their regular “Trash Bash” .  Members walked over a mile, clearing trash and debris from the roadside.  In 2006, the chapter adopted University Parkway, the main thoroughfare leading into Natchitoches.  The Fraternity chose the street because of its high visibility to residents and tourists.  “It’s important that NSU students take pride in their community, so we help out where we can,” Pi Kappa Phi President DJ Klucznik said.  The roadside is cleaned at least four times each year.
