Members of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at NSU and their dates recently celebrated the accomplishments of the chapter and individuals at the annual Rose Ball, a long-cherished tradition of the fraternity.
Held April 19, 2024 at the Sylvan Friedman Student Union on the Northwestern State University campus, members, their dates, and parents enjoyed a catered meal, before several members were honored for their dedication in the last year.
Dominic Ross was named ‘Active Member of the Year.’ Mitchell Mayfield was recognized for his dedication to chapter leadership with the Kroeg Award. Owen Stutzman received the Mixson Award for excellence in campus involvement. The Fogarty Award for dedication to academic achievement went to Dominic Ross, while the Associate of the Year honor was given to Owen Stutzman.
Chapter members who served as big brothers over the last semester were also recognized for mentoring associate members.
Each year the Beta Omicron Chapter selects the fraternity sweetheart, known as the Rose Queen. This honorary title is bestowed upon one woman who embodies class, character, and elegance. Kirsten Knoblock was crowned the 2024 Beta Omicron chapter Rose Queen. Others named to the court include: Haley Christian, Alexis Callihan, Emily Waits, and Liv Kilgo. Knoblock was presented with a bouquet of red roses, the official flower of the fraternity, while members performed the traditional serenade, ‘The Rose of Pi Kappa Phi.’
