Two members of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity were inducted into academic honor societies at Northwestern State University.
This weekend, Mitchell Mayfield was invited to join Blue Key Honor Society and the Order of Omega.
Blue Key Honor Society, chartered at NSU in 1959, is a premier honor society that recognizes college students at senior institutions of higher education for balanced and all-around excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
Order of Omega, founded at NSU in 1992, is a national organization recognizing those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities. The society encourages them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment. More than 500 Greeks have been inducted into the Mu Phi Chapter.
Fellow Pi Kapp Daniel Gallagher was inducted into NSU’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, an honor society for first-year students.
The mission of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.
Students in Alpha Lambda Delta must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 after their first semester of full-time enrollment at Northwestern State.
