Pi Kapps adopt Natchitoches street for beautification, trash pick-upMembers of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity are doing their part to help keep Natchitoches beautiful. On November 9, 2008, the fraternity held their regular “Trash Bash” to help beautify the city before the upcoming month-long Festival of Lights. Members walked over a mile, clearing trash and debris from the roadside.

In 2006 the chapter adopted University Parkway, the main thoroughfare leading into Natchitoches. The Fraternity chose to adopt the street because of its high visibility to residents and tourists.

“Natchitoches is such a beautiful place. It’s important for our members to contribute to the betterment of our community,” Pi Kappa Phi chapter president Britt Richey said.

The roadside is cleaned at least four times each year.
