NSU graduate, Pi Kappa Phi alum named alumni officer at New Orleans prep school

A prestigious New Orleans college preparatory school has hired Chris Alley, a Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity alumnus, as its new alumni officer.

Alley, a 2008 initiate of the Beta Omicron Chapter at Northwestern State University, will begin work July 30, 2018 on connecting alumni of the Catholic high school, which traces its history to 1869.

As an alumni officer in the school’s Office of Alumni & Development, Alley’s duties will include: daily contact with alumni through social media, personal contacts, and mail. planning and execution of all alumni events. Assisting with alumni visits to college campuses and all social events. maintaining class ‘time capsules’ for reunions. working towards strengthening alumni involvement, with particular attention to young alumni groups. developing a chapter strategic plan and its execution, maintaining and updating alumni archive area. regularly updating alumni database with current info, actions, and notes.

Alley plans to put to use his involvement and experiences in the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter.

“The Brothers of the Sacred Heart, which is the religious order that runs Brother Martin, rely on the support of its alumni to operate. Due to their effective alumni engagement in the past, St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu (the two schools that consolidated to form Brother Martin in 1969), and Brother Martin have been thriving in the greater New Orleans Area for 150 years. This can be said about our brotherhood as well. In order for our Fraternity and our Chapter to be successful, alumni engagement is key.”

His long-term goal is to expand involvement among recent graduates.

Alley is a 2008 graduate of Brother Martin High School.
