Lane Luckie, an alumnus of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Northwestern State University, was recently honored with an Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Newscast.
Luckie and his colleagues at KLTV in Tyler, Texas were awarded a Regional Emmy from the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Outstanding achievement in Morning/Daytime Newscast – Smaller Markets (61+), recognizing their coverage during Tropical Storm Cindy.
He has served as an anchor and reporter for the ABC affiliate since 2012.
“We dedicated this (award) to our late news director, our rock, Kenny Boles who passed away earlier this year. He challenged us to earn the trust of our viewers every day. We constantly think about that charge to pursue responsible journalism and the impact he’s had on our careers.”
