Winners announced in 14th Pi Kappa Phi Golf Tournament at Northwestern Hills

A year after the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation, the 14th Pi Kappa Phi Golf Tournament returned to Northwestern Hills Golf Course on Saturday, April 10.

Stunning weather in Natchitoches, Louisiana made for picture-perfect playing conditions on the course, which has been meticulously cared for and improved over the last year.

Teams of golfers, made up of alumni of the Beta Omicron Chapter at Northwestern State University, family and friends of the fraternity, hit the links at 8 a.m.

Two-player amateur teams competed for cash prizes, handed out in an awards ceremony in the clubhouse. First place went to the duo of Monte and Carol Robinson. Monte also landed the “closest to the pin” contest, while the longest drive went to Martin Iddon.

The tournament’s ‘fun’ format, a scramble featuring gimmick holes such as four ball, girls putt, and pick-a-club, remains popular among participants and will be expanded in 2022.

The tournament is expected to return next Spring for its 15th year. Information on dates and registration will be announced in January 2022.
