Pi Kappa Phi celebrates NSU school spirit, Homecoming king honors

NSU’s annual Homecoming Weekend on November 3-4 was the perfect opportunity to highlight the momentum and accomplishments of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

Despite the cancellation of the remainder of the NSU Football season, the student chapter kept their focus on promoting school spirit.

Leading the charge was Pi Kappa Phi’s Vice Archon Zach Cooper, who was named 2023 NSU Homecoming King.

Cooper, a senior communications major from Winnsboro, is the son of Sherry Cooper-Carroll and Tim Carroll. He is also a member the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band, the Order of Omega and Demon Volunteers in Progress. He is a member of Demon Mentor Network, Alpha Lambda Delta and a mentor for the President’s Leadership Program. He was a freshman orientation leader.

This year, the NSU Pi Kapps were recognized for their participation in Homecoming week activities, clinching 1st place for their banner and tote bag; 2nd place for their parade float; and third place their service contribution.

Saturday featured an open house and a brotherhood panel led by several Beta Omicron Chapter alumni and the entire student chapter. The Pi Kapps and their families later enjoyed tailgating before the NSU Volleyball game in Prather Coliseum.
