NSU Pi Kapps assist in re-chartering chapter at LSU

The Beta Omicron Chapter at Northwestern State assisted in the re-chartering of the Gamma Iota Chapter at Louisiana State University on April 17-18, 2026.

The 80-member group began the journey to re-chartering in the Fall of 2025, focused on brotherhood, service and leadership.

The re-chartering was celebrated Saturday night with a well-attended ceremony held at L’Auberge in Baton Rouge.

The chartering was executed by installation officers Mark Jacobs (Delta Psi, Univ. of Texas at Arlington) and Andrae L. Turner (Eta Rho, Texas State).

The Pi Kapps from Northwestern State University provided an initiation team, alongside chapters from Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech. Beta Omicron served on the original chartering team for Gamma Iota back in 1968.

LSU returns as the seventh Pi Kappa Phi flag planted in the state of Louisiana. The fraternity’s current footprint also includes active chapters at Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech, Loyola- New Orleans, and dormant chapters at Nicholls State, Tulane, and McNeese State.
