Pi Kappa Phi alumnus named Central Louisiana soccer ‘Coach of the Year’

In recognition of his efforts to elevate the profile of soccer in Central Louisiana, Pineville High School coach Greg Comeaux has been named ‘All-Cenla Coach of the Year.’

Comeaux, an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Northwestern State University, shared the boys ‘Coach of the Year’ honor with Glenmora coach Roger Richmond.

The honor, along with a list of top players, was determined by a vote among Central Louisiana soccer coaches.

Last season, Comeaux coached Pineville to a 15-8-2 record and their first home playoff game since 2007, according to the Alexandria Town Talk.

“I would also like to thank the area coaches who selected me as Co-coach of the year,” Comeaux stated. “The Rebels definitely had a good season on the field and this recognition is shared [among] all coaches and players!”

Comeaux has been teaching and coaching at Pineville High School since 2015, while serving as a volunteer coach with the Crossroads Soccer Association. He previously worked for the Lafayette Parish School Board from 2011 to 2015 and St. Landry Parish schools from 2007 to 2011. Comeaux is a 2004 graduate of Northwestern State University.
