Pineville High School coach Greg Comeaux has been named ‘All-Cenla Coach of the Year’ for the second year in a row.
Comeaux, an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Northwestern State University, was selected for the honor by a vote among Central Louisiana soccer coaches.
The list of top high school players was also released, including five of Comeaux’s students at Pineville.
Under Comeaux’s coaching leadership, the boys team clinched its first district title in nine seasons with a 14-8-4 record, according to the Alexandria Town Talk.
This season his students earned numerous accolades, including six seniors on the LHSAA Academic All-State team; three team members selected to the 2018-2019 All-State Second Team for their on field success; three of the four MVP’s and a total of 8 players selected to the All-District Team,
Comeaux has been teaching and coaching at Pineville High School since 2015, while serving as a volunteer coach with the Crossroads Soccer Association. He previously worked for the Lafayette Parish School Board from 2011 to 2015 and St. Landry Parish schools from 2007 to 2011.
Comeaux is a 2004 graduate of Northwestern State University.
