Pi Kappa Phi named top fraternity at NSU

Pi Kappa Phi named top fraternity at NSUMore than any other fraternity at Northwestern State University, Pi Kappa Phi received recognition for excellence at the annual Greek Awards Banquet. On April 26, Pi Kappa Phi was honored for chapter success in academics, service, and athletics– indicative of the fraternity’s commitment to developing well-rounded members.

Beta Omicron chapter was named the recipient of the prestigious President’s Cup, an award given to the top Greek organization at NSU. Pi Kappa Phi is the first fraternity in five years to take home the honor.

Having outperformed every Greek organization and countless other campus groups, Pi Kapp’s athletes earned the Greek Intramural Cup. The spring 2009 Push America Empathy Dinner, recognized as the Greek Event of the Year, raised money and awareness for people with disabilities. The chapter was also recognized for excellence in alumni relations and was named the “Most Improved Chapter.”

Brother Brad Deville was named “Outstanding Senior,” for his contributions to Pi Kappa Phi and the NSU Greek Community. The faculty advisor of the year was alumnus Dr. Michael Land, who has spearheaded a new scholarship program for members.
