A week of gatherings reunited Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity brothers, spouses, and guests from around the country, all returning to their alma mater to celebrate NSU Homecoming on October 16-17, 2015.
Recently-initiated members of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, the accomplishments of exceptional leaders, and a successful semester were reason enough to celebrate at the Beta Omicron chapter Rose Ball. Held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Merci Beaucoup Restaurant in the Natchitoches Historic District, the annual formal brought together generations of Pi Kappa Phi members, alumni, their families, and several special guests from Northwestern State University.
Cool temperatures and crystal clear skies were a real treat for the teams of golfers at Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity’s 9th annual golf tournament. Several inches of rain and strong storms had postponed the scramble a week earlier. On Saturday, March 28, 2015, chapter alumni, family and friends of the Fraternity and community members teed-off in perfect weather at Northwestern Hills Golf Course.
Fifteen years ago, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity celebrated its official return to Northwestern State University after an 18-year hiatus. In early 1999, a group of student leaders set out on a journey to re-charter the Beta Omicron chapter. Less than a year later, on February 12, 2000, a group of 29 young men earned their charter.
110 years after Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity was founded, the Beta Omicron Chapter at Northwestern State University marked the anniversary by welcoming its newest members and honoring the founding fathers who began this tradition of inspiring its members to become leaders.
Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity’s brotherhood is growing in the state of Louisiana. On November 8, 2014 the Beta Omicron Chapter at Northwestern State assisted in the chartering of the Iota Phi Chapter at Loyola- New Orleans.

A weekend of lasting memories were made at Pi Kappa Phi’s annual Rose Ball Formal in New Orleans, Louisiana. Keeping with tradition, the Beta Omicron Chapter returned to the Crescent City April 19-20th, 2013.
More than a dozen teams of Pi Kappa Phi alumni, family and friends of the Fraternity, NSU Greeks, and community members teed-off in bright sunshine and cool weather for Pi Kappa Phi’s 7th annual Golf Tournament. On March 16, 2013, amateurs competed in the Beta Omicron Chapter’s two-person scramble.
A small piece of Northwestern State University’s history is now on permanent display at Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity National Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of the only known surviving membership badges of Phi Kappa Nu Fraternity, the predecessor of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, was recently added to the collection at the Eldred J. Harman Museum.

While the nation’s lawmakers were away for the summer recess, more than a thousand Pi Kappa Phi members and their families, including those from Northwestern State University, convened in Washington, D.C. for the Fraternity’s biennial convention. The 53rd Supreme Chapter held a special significance, as it coincided with the 35th anniversary of Push America, the Fraternity’s philanthropy.
In what has become a much-anticipated tradition, the Beta Omicron chapter returned to New Orleans in 2012 for the fraternity’s annual Rose Ball formal. March 16-17, members and their dates descended on the Big Easy for a weekend of touring the historic French Quarter and colorful Bourbon Street, tasting authentic cuisine, and taking in the music that defines the city’s spirit.
